Damn tv

If there is one thing I’d really like to se today it is the Hahnenkamm-Rennen from Kitzbühl today. But apparently my tv has decided that it won’t show any pictures, just sound! And for some unexplaniable reason all the tv channels that have web channels have decided to not show the race, or take have to high fees. Well i justhope nothing interesting will happen in the race i that i can manage with just the sound 😦

What happened to Switzerland?

I’m laying in bed watching slalom on my tablet and just heard that the great alpine nation of Switzerland haven’t won a ladies GS in the WC (that’s giant slalom in the world cup for you non ski lovers) over the past 10 years. The last girl to win was over 10 years ago and I can’t even remember hearing her name before. How did that happen? Switzerland isn’t anything but mountains, they are born on skies!

Weekend ache

Why do the headaches always come during the weekends? The are more punctual than the f*ing trains!
Okay it’s not that hard too be more punctual than a train here in Sweden, but it’s no fun anyway!

Bimbo

Sometimes I really wonder where the world is heading. I’m at the airport waiting for a flight to Stockholm and a girl a few meters over is talking to a friend. “Oh my God, I haven’t been out parting for 1,5…on 2 weeks”. Oh poor her, where is the world heading when she sat at home studying and had to much schoolwork to go out party last weekend. That’s life when your at uni!

Why, why, why?

Why are guys so bad at taking hints and understanding clues? I spent the whole evening yesterday trying to get a guy to understand that “I only like you as a friend, and not as one with benefits” and I tried for several hours to say it to him politely. But apparently I’m to nice and polite for guys to take a hint and stop trying to get me in bed :-S

Work, work, work

I haven’t had time for anything else than work today. I arrived at work just after 8 this morning, spent 20 minutes showering snow since someone had mistaken our door for the perfect place for a snowdump! :-@
The next five hours was a chaos to get all the orders shipped out in time, but we did it 🙂 6,5 hours after i arrived at work I finally had time to start answering email, just to realise i have three huge orders to make. So…just after 5 I was finally ready to tackle the huge amount of emails that had accumulated over the weekend. I answered a few of them and the realised that I had worked over 9 hours with nothin more than work2 cups of coffee and the2 biscuits. I went home and ate some lunch at 6pm before starting a 3-hour marathon of answering emails. 13 hours after arriving at work this morning I was finally done. I just hope that the rest of the week wont be like this!

Thoughts from work

I have never rally understood this female jealousy thing. I work at an internet shop where we sell lingerie, not the kind you find in x rated movies, the kind you look good in, the kind that guys can buy for their girlfriends and wifes  without risking a black eye, the kind that makes you feel sexy, beautiful and confident. We sell bras that range from 65 to 115 (30 – 50) and from A to K-cups, we sell them because there is a demand for them, if there where no demand we wouldn’t be able to sell them!
If you are going to have pictures of lingerie there need to be half naked women in them, okay i guess you could put them flat on the ground, but that wouldn’t show how they look on you, and none would buy that. Instead of using barbiedolls or anorexic models most of our bigger bras and “more to love” lingerie is modeled by real models. But apparently women can’t seem to be happy for other omen that have naturally large breast, have great curves even thou they aren’t a size 2, and feels great enough about themselves to show their bodies to others. If the girl has big booba apparently they must be the result of surgery, if she is curvy then we must have retouched the pictured and edited her waist, if she has flawless skin it must be the result of photo editing.
I have a natural G-cup and I’ve experienced the jealousy firsthand, but i have never judge another girl just because God gave her large breasts, a big but or a thing waist.

But why don’t guys complain about our pictures of halfnaked guys with a washboard stomach, a generous “package” and good looks?

The arrival of the winter

I usually say that there need to be a bot more snow outside for me to count it as a real winter. We have less than an inch of snow outside, so it could just as well be no snow at all, but the temperature is definitely gone in to winter mood. Today the thermometer showed -22C, -8F, at noon an it is even colder now. I just hope that the temperature goes up tomorrow 🙂

Broken back

Sometimes i really dislike how my body treats me. On Sunday i felt really bad from a cold and a slight fever and sat in the sofa all day. Not a goto decision, my back has totally crashed now, yesterday morning it took me 10 minutes just to get out of bed, and it was a real fight with the pain to get my socks on, which felt really silly since it’s such a natural thing to do in th morning .
It feels a bit better today, but I’m not taking  chance  with to sofa tonight, i have planted my back on my bed and I’m not getting up for anything but coffee.

Ice fanatics

What’s the deal with people and ice in this town? Where i grew up we when told to be careful of the ice on lakes and to only go out in it if we where certain that it was at least 3 inches thick. But here people seems to gout on the ice the day after the lake has frozen.
I have stepped trough the ice once, and after having to walk home with a boot full of freezing water i might be extra careful, but I’m just waiting for the day when the emergency crews have to drag imeon out of the freezing water on the lack outside my window.

First two weeks

I’ve been off carbohydrates for the past 16 days and normally i loose about five kilos the first two weeks. I have been cheating some so i was totally prepared to only have lost 2-3 kilos the up to now, so guess if i was surprised when i steped on the scale today and saw that i had lost 6kilos, just over 13 pounds 🙂
Now my goal is to lose 6 more till Christmas, or more preferably 10, but thatmight be a bit much to hope for.

Birthday month

I don’t know what it is with this month, but it seems like everybody is born during December, me, my mother, two of her siblings, my ex, my step  grandpa, a bunch f my friends and certainly someone else.

Hypocrisy deluxe

Sunday is the first Sundays in advent and there kind of is a tradition that the whole school, or at least class goes to church on the Friday before to celebrate the advent. But this year the authorities has dictated that there can be no religious content in the advent-celebrations! I’m all for freedom of choice and i don’t dismiss or dislike people just because they have a different religion than me so therefore i can understand if not everybody wants to join in a Christian celebration of advent. But to ban religion from an advent-celebration is just wrong. To understand why it is wrong you need to know a few things. First of all, advent means “waiting” or “the awaiting”, mainly the waiting for Christmas, or more exactly the waiting of Jesus birth. How can you celebrate the waiting for Christ when you aren’t aloud to have any religious content? And apparently some of th psalms where okay to sing, like Holy Night, but that song is very much a religious song, it is about the holy night when Jesus was born! What is the next step? Are they going to ban Lucia-celebrations too since Lucia was a Christian saint? You might think that I’m over reacting, but no i am not. I’m a Christian, I’ve been brought up with a mother who is working in the church, I sang in th church choirs for 10 years as a kid and teenager, I I’d the confirmation of my faith at 14, and I’ve been to Taize 3 times, but I’m still not a believer. I’m just informed and all this information means that I know what i have chosen to not believe in. The kids that don’t get the information won’t know what they are saying no to, we will get even more crazy sects and fanatics and the rest will be non-believers, non-understanding, and that is a dangerous road to go down.

New hair cut

It’s 3,5 weeks til Christmas and today I realised that I won’t have many calm days at work for the next 3 weeks. So I sneaked of early and went downtown, I got myself a new haircut, picked up my new contacts (and dam how bad my vision has gotten) and managed to remember to buy both a new computer muse and a new remote for the tv. All in all I very necessary shoppingtrip 🙂

24th of what?

My phone tells MetL.au it is just after 1am, early on the morning of the 24th of November. My app that shows the temperature on campus, half a mile away, shows +4C, around 40F. That midnight temperature doesn’t go together with the end of November, if you had said September or OctoberI would have believed you. But a month before Christmas it should be snow on the ground, sub zero outside and not the rainy fog that we have had all day 😦

Shopping failure

To say utict my shopping trip today was a failure is on understatement. I visited both of the lingeriestores that have my bra size and none of them had a dark balconette 😦 witch is lineumd weird since it is the cast model for a bigger bust in a deeper dress. I really miss the good lingeriestore back home some times.

Emergency shopping

I’m just on my way downtown for some emergency shopping. I just found out that I’m going to a fancy party on Saturday and I only have one suitable dress to wear, so on problem liesd. But the problem is that the bras that are in the right colour show to much cleavage and the only bra that looks good together with the dress is in a totally wrong colour, since it might show a bit. Normally I can find a new bra at work without any problems, but not this time, we are all our of my size. So right now I’m hoping for a miracle, that the two shops downtown have a bra that looks good, and actually fits me.

Healthy food is unhealthy

Last Tuesday I decided that enough is enough and I haven’t eaten anything bad since, except for two bananas on Friday since I forgot my lunch at home. The good thing is that I lost 3 kg, 7 pounds, so far, but there are two not so good downsides. My blood pressure is way low, I black out if I move to fast and I have to tale care to not stand up too fast so I don’t faint, and I’m feeling a fever and a cold coming on, witch it does every time that I stop eating carbohydrates. So now this big question is, how many more kilos can I lose before the cold comes and I give in to the sugar cravings.

Summer in November?

I’m in the north of Sweden where November usually means sub zero temperatures, snow and other typical winter weather. The snow has not yet decided to stay for more than a few days each time, but to call it summer is a bit of overstatement. Well, to the point of all of this. I just stepped on the bus and before me was a guy in shorts going to the gym. I don’t have a problem with people wearing their gym clothes to th gym, that’s just practical, but shorts in the winter?

Because of vs thanks to

Why do some people seem to have such big problems to understand when to use “because of” and “thanks to”. It is not that hard, “thanks to” is used in a positive sentence and “because of” in a negative, or maybe neutral sentence. And if you don’t know which to use toy can always use the ever so formal, but always suitable “due to”. I’m not a grammar feel, specially in a language that I’m no excellent in, but I think that the hosts ofthe big news-shows on CNN, BBC etc shield know the difference. And I get just as frustrated with the Swedish news people who don’t know the difference between “på grund av” and “tack vare”, same principal applies to them, one positive and one negative or neutral.
